Case Study: Corporate Litigation Document Scanning

The Situation

One of the nation's largest manufacturers of plastics and resin products was a defendant in a lawsuit (that proved to be baseless) brought on by one of their competitors.

A judge ordered that they provide copies of their billing and production documentation, going back five years, without delay.

The Challenges

Due to the size of the organization, the records filled 17 pallets.
Hard copy and soft (electronic) copy of each of the documents needed to be collated and presented to opposing counsel in just three weeks.
Each document needed to be bates stamped and indexed for reference
The project had to be handled with utmost discretion given the sensitive nature of the material

The Solution

The customer contacted National Scanning. Within 24 hours the documents had been picked up at each of the four manufacturing facilities, as far apart as Manssachusetts and Arizona. The documents were inventoried and assigned to the National Scanning Rush Processing Team (RPT). Staples were pulled, and every document was scanned, indexed, and Bates stamped within just two weeks.

The Outcome

National Scanning delivered the final product days ahead of the nearly impossible deadline. The Bates Sequence, quality, and indexing structure met the exacting requirements of opposing counsel. And, in the end, our client prevailed in the suit.
